Rules for the Determination of Annual Symposium Sites
(Purpose)
Section 1 | The Annual Symposium of JSCC (here after the “Symposium”) shall be held by open call for the site selection. Its purpose is to promote advances in coordination chemistry and also to contribute to operate smooth management of the Symposium. |
(How to make an application)
Section 2 | A person who wants to hold the Symposium shall present an application form filled in with the following items to the office of JSCC (here after the “Office”) not later than the end of January, two years before the Symposium year. |
(1) A responsible person of an application | |
(2) Expected organizing committee members (names and affilications of main committee members) | |
(3) Expected site for the Symposium (number of lecture rooms, their capacities, the total area for the poster presentations, a possible site for the banquet, etc.) | |
(4) Expected dates | |
(5) The reason why the Symposium should be held at the proposed site (concretely) | |
(6) The others (public transports, helpful items such as a new plan for a special session, etc.) |
(Requirement of an application)
Section 3 | A responsible person of an application shall be a member of JSCC. |
(In case of no applications)
Section 4 | If no applications are made by the deadline, vice president of JSCC (here after the “Vice president”) can request a member of JSCC to present an application for the Symposium. In this case, the Vice president shall make a deadline. |
(How to select the site)
Section 5 | The council of JSCC (here after the “Council”) shall select the site from the sites proposed by the applications. |
Section 6 | As a basic rule, the site shall be selected at the Council which is held on March, two years before the Symposium year. |
Section 7 | At the selection of sites, the Vice president can request a responsible person or a deputy to attend the Council and give an outline. |
(In case of no suitable sites are proposed )
Section 8 | The Vice president can request a member of JSCC to hold the Symposium when the Council judge that no suitable sites are proposed. |
(The procedure of approval)
Section 9 | The Vice president shall report the result of selection and get approval of the president of JSCC (here after the “President”) by a general meeting of JSCC two years before the Symposium year. |
Section 10 | The President shall report the site at the general meeting. |
(Refusal of holding the Symposium)
Section 11 | When unavoidable situation occurs at the site, the member can refuse holding the Symposium. The Vice president can request a member of JSCC to hold the Symposium when a refusal occurs. |
Section 12 | These rules may be amended by a careful discussion at the Council and an approval at the general meeting. These rules become effective from October 1, 2002. |
