We are also accepting applications for public lectures for the general public.
【Application】If you would like to hold a symposium, please refer to the “Submission Items” below and submit your proposal by email to the Office of the Coordination Chemistry Society (sakutai(at)ims.ac.jp).
【Deadline】Friday, February 7, 2025
【Acceptance of symposia proposals】 The organizing committee plans to hold around 6 symposia at the 75th Symposium. The acceptance of symposia proposals will be decided at the March meeting, after discussion by the organizing committee based on the following acceptance criteria.
The results will be notified to the proposers by the end of March and also posted on the website of the Society of Coordination Chemistry.
【Symposium format】The 75th Symposium is scheduled to be held in person, while a hybrid style is also possible for symposium presentations. In the hybrid format, it is assumed that the symposium will be held in person at the venue, and some of the speakers will present via Zoom. The presentation format can be changed at the discretion of the symposium organizer, so please contact us for more information.
【Items to be submitted】(free format)
Please include the following items (1) to (5) in your proposal and send it as an attachment to an e-mail to the CSJ Secretariat.
(1) Whether the session will be in English or Japanese.
From the perspective of promoting internationalization, if the session will be held in Japanese, please also submit a written explanation of the significance and importance of using Japanese.
(2) Title (English for English sessions, Japanese for Japanese sessions)
(3) Name and affiliation of the person in charge (Japanese. English session should also include the alphabetical name.)
If you are applying as a group, please include the email addresses of all members. We will contact all of the people in charge.
Note: At least one of the people in charge must be a member of the JSCC.
(4) Statement of purpose (English for English sessions. This will be posted on the website after acceptance.)
(5) List of tentative speakers (The members should be listed after obtaining the consent of the candidates. It is not necessary to list all persons.)
Speakers who are not JSCC members will be invited (registration fee is covered).
【Criteria for acceptance of symposia】
Acceptance of the symposia will be decided based on the following criteria.
(1) The Organizing Committee for the Symposium and International Conference (hereafter, the Organizing Committee) will make the decision, taking into account the purpose of the symposium, availability, the status of speaker selection, and the balance of the fields of application (avoiding duplication).
(2) From the perspective of internationalizing the discussion, the number of Japanese sessions is limited up to 25%. We also encourage the participation of foreign speakers.
(3) Depending on the reason for the application and the number of applications, the organizing committee may request that a Japanese symposium be changed to English one before a decision of acceptance is made.
(4) The organizing committee will make a decision on whether or not to accept an application based on an evaluation of the proposal by all members of the organizing committee. Some symposia could be declined even if the number of proposals are fewer than the maximum number of proposals.
The organizing committee may request that the proposal be changed or revised.
(5) The society will also accept applications from general members for public lectures for citizens.
